Challenge
The Corvuss American Academy had a fundamental task to solve. They were faced with the uphill challenge of evolving mindsets that were programmed for conventional school teaching curriculums that were largely based on academics and considered sports as extracurricular activities.
Corvuss was all set to establish an institution that offered the perfect balance of academics and sports for students inclined to pursue a career in sports. Our task was to communicate the equal weightage that both sports and studies would receive at this one-of-a-kind boarding school.
Approach
Being cognizant of the fact that mainstream academic learning cannot and should not be compromised, we designed Corvuss’ communication in a structured and focussed way. A mindful decision was made to visually and verbally reflect both the school’s offerings. In order to do this, every piece of communication, right from the brand’s logo to every touchpoint, ensured that both learning and playing was highlighted.
The logo is a beautiful marriage of a circle, representing a sporting ball, and an extended ‘V’, which represents an open book. We selected burgundy as the signature primary colour as it represents strength, passion and leadership. The olive green, which is a colour of growth and also represents the playing fields, beautifully offsets the burgundy. The tertiary bright red serves as an accent, highlighting important information.
We provided an effective overview of how time was split between studies and sports in a fun and engaging manner. This visual representation was important as it showcased a typical day at the Corvuss American Academy.
