Challenge
Mintree was about to launch a new series of hydrogel-based masks. To highlight this, they wanted packaging that was aloe vera gel based. As the aloe vera plant is not very visually enticing, our challenge was to stylishly depict the plant.
Approach
Our approach and process to arrive at the design was fairly straightforward since the elements were pre-defined. We decided to create dainty illustrations that were suggestive of the product benefits, mood and application area. We used gel images in the label background as our base ingredient connect.
On the whole, we used a clean and minimal approach that was completely in sync with the product, a transparent gel.
The eye mask illustration had an aesthetic look. We went through several iterations and forms before arriving at the most stylised output. The vivid green was used to strike the right balance between having a fresh hydrogel look while also cueing the aloe vera plant.
The photography style was contemporary and in the tertiary zone. We intentionally used non-saturated images with a prominent green tinge.
The bikini mask is a unique product that is quickly becoming popular in salons. The hydrogel aspect was a first of its kind, giving it a strong edge in the mask category. The client expected this product to be a bestseller.
The shopping bags followed a muted style but were designed and fabricated with rich paper stock and foil printing. We created a delicate and stunning line illustration for it, which gave the brand a premium look.
